FUN WITH MATH: RECOGNIZING AND DISTINGUISHING BETWEEN SPHERES AND CYLINDERS
Today, the children of class MGL C3 participated in an exciting math-related activity: "Recognizing and distinguishing between spheres and cylinders."
Using familiar objects and hands-on games, the children observed, touched, held, and rotated the shapes to discover the unique characteristics of each. Through this process, they began to understand that:
Spheres: are round and can roll in multiple directions.
Cylinders: have two flat circular faces and can stand upright or roll in specific directions.
Beyond simply memorizing facts, the children practiced classifying, comparing, and correctly identifying the shapes through fun games. Each correct answer boosted their confidence and fueled their excitement to explore the world around them.
Guided by the motto "Learning through play – playing to learn," the teachers hope that every activity becomes a joyful experience, helping the children develop observational and thinking skills while naturally forming their initial understanding of mathematical concepts.
